Hello. Hi. Today we met Wenxin Chang. Wenxin Chang. So, Wenxin, tell a little bit about yourself.

My name is Wenxin Chang and I just graduated from University of Chicago and I just moved here in San Francisco.

And I want to start up a company which is in AI plus education areas and our project is help Gen Z like ADHD or procrastination students to study.

We turn boring materials, study materials into very fine drama study learning videos, short videos.

So, what do you study in UChicago?

Yeah, I study major is AI, Artificial Intelligence Engineering program.

Oh, so there is already an AI program?

Yeah, yeah. It's highly AI.

Okay. I think when I was studying in school there was not a major AI. Okay. It's very up to date.

So, what do you teach in the AI program?

Many courses, mainly like large language model and some, you know, some related courses.

Oh, so you graduated this year?

Yeah, I just graduated this year and this program, yeah.

So, you entered school in 2022?

Oh, it's my master, master, master.

Yeah, undergraduate is in China and is South China University of Technology at Guangzhou, yeah.

I was just thinking, in 2022, how come there is an AI course and the GPT was not even popular?

Yeah, yeah, yeah. GPT. But GPT is developing very fast. Yeah.

Okay. So, AI. And what drives your interest to the domain you are trying to develop a startup for?

Like, what attracts you to the AI education?

I think I just made a lot of products, like from March this year and I started as a healthcare project.

It's about pets. It's about pets and the family.

But I made a lot of products, like in healthcare and in education and also in education decision agents.

Yeah, many products. And through the process I found many products can be copied very easily by web coding.

So, yeah, so finally I found this really interesting because I want to study web scrolling, you know, not playing web scrolling.

So, I want to, yeah, design such a chance to tell students they can also study web scrolling.

Well scrolling?

Study web scrolling.

What's that?

Oh, yeah, like you can learn some knowledge through scroll your screen, through short videos or drama videos.

That means you can study well playing. So that's really fun.

Okay, gamify the study.

Similar, right.

Make it a game.

Oh, yeah, yeah, like game. And also I want to do some, like, game in education.

And I webcoded a game, like chemistry world. It's like an endless map and different chemistry parts are in it.

And you can click anyone and then enter the world and to figure out the details.

Okay, so at the end of the master, maybe in the course you need to develop different projects and you try different things.

And finally you found out, maybe something too simple can be webcoded.

Maybe something is not your interest and you feel like you need to do something related to study.

Yes, yes.

Apart from the other things that don't have mode, that's what, that's an investor's mind.

From you, from your own personal interest, why you want to do this related to study?

Why I want to do this product? I think it's just really fun because I usually, in daily life, I love to watch drama videos or short videos.

And it will waste a lot of my time. But I think, why can't I just combine them?

And when I make, when I make these AI videos, when I combine the knowledge with the drama, the hooks, all the storytelling, I found this really interesting. Yeah.

Okay, so we found out that a human would be more interested with the dramas.

And it makes people addicted by nature.

And you just think about, okay, so still in AI, people need to learn. Why not do it this way?

Yeah, yeah.

And before they, it was very hard for the education system to produce this kind of content for people to learn.

Because I think that's the kind of traditional culture. They think that study is serious.

Yeah, yeah. So the short videos or the drama videos, they see the addictiveness of the humanity.

Right. So we want to transfer the addictives from playing or the drama or the entertainment into the study.

So why can't we, like, be addicted to study? Yeah.

Yeah, I think that's the kind of Chinese culture, right? Yeah, Chinese.

Why study should be serious? Why cannot it be fun? How fun? As fun as a drama.

That's fun as short videos. Yeah, yeah.

Okay, I like the idea.

Yeah, yeah. That's what I'm trying to say, yeah.

Like, at the first place, I want to do some, like, video tutor these days.

I want to do AI. Like, AI teacher can teach you all things.

And you can naturally ask questions about the AI tutor, about everything.

You won't be shy, you won't be fearful to the real teacher.

So you just ask everything. That would be a good opportunity for students.

Yeah, but I think I want to train a model, like, in the long run.

I want to train a model to design AI tutor to help students.

Yeah, but, yeah, now I want to do the entertainment part.

Okay, so first, about the AI education.

The first part is people, or human, is not interested in studying. A lot of them.

So you want to make it attractive.

Yeah, yeah, that's the point, because the group of students who don't want to study,

is more than the students who want to study.

And what, um, so how did the project, how did it start?

How long have you been working on that?

I've been working on this almost three months.

Yeah, I made a lot of videos and posted them on TikTok, and Instagram, and also YouTube.

And we have nearly, like, 600 fans on TikTok now.

Also, we have a website, and we are transforming to an app, to design an app now.

I think that one we have saying,

because our videos can help teachers to,

help teachers get their student attention back.

Because in class,

students may not pay attention to the teachers.

They will get bored easily,

and they will be distracted very easily.

So, I think I can help teachers to make a service

for their textbook.

the teacher will show the videos

to tell the students what's this class about,

and what's the main point.

I think mainly from my classmates and my friends.

and some users just sign up.

because our TikTok content is viral.

and she asked me if I can do AP by all too for her.

So, I just made new videos for her,

and she signed up for our website.
